Resources You Can Use


If you’re providing in-home care for an elder you may be helping your loved one with a range of activities such as bathing, dressing, providing transportation, and food preparation. In addition, you may have to take care of legal and financial matters such as making medical decisions and handling bills and budgets.
Fortunately, a variety of community care options are available to assist you and your loved one. There are also national Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs), senior centers, or community mental health programs are good resources that can help you find services, such as adult day care programs, respite care, and meals. Assisted living may also be an option. Links are below.

Are you looking for services in the Inland Region? Try searching our online 211+ database. The information covers both Riverside and San Bernardino Counties and can be searched by keyword or agency name. Or, dial 211 to speak to a Community Resource Advisor 24 hours a day 7 days a week
The following 4 options are available to refer clients to Shella Care Management Services (SCMS) for respite services.
1. For information or to refer a consumer – contact the main office at 951•723•8460.
If you are a Consumer Service Coordinator from a Regional Center, a copy of the following documents will be needed to complete the consumer’s authorization for service:

2. Referral by E-Mail
To refer a consumer by e-mail, contact our Client Services department directly at intake@shellacare.com.
3. Referral by Fax
To refer a client by fax, please use the following Referral Form and fax to 951•639•5950.

Funding for Nonprofits
One of the goals of the Shella Foundation is to search for Foundations who are a good fit to assist our Foundation in better serving people needing financial assisatance.
We were recently awarded a grant from the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation. In part the letter said,
“On behalf of the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation (the Foundation), I am pleased to inform you that The Shella Foundation (Grantee) has been awarded a 2022 Priority Impact Quality of Life grant to support your project entitled, In-Home Personal Care Respite Scholarship.”
Quality of Life Grants
The Quality of Life Grants Program, created by the late Dana Reeve, strives to empower individuals with disabilities and their families by providing grants to nonprofit organizations that improve quality of life through inclusion, access, independence, opportunities for community engagement, and other life-enhancing endeavors.
